The Danish won this Sunday the 9th stage of the Tour of Spain Between Alfaro and Valdezcaray, after a nice attack 10 kilometers from the finish. Despite numerous attempts in the first kilometers, the breakaway took time to train, especially because of the big pace imposed by the peloton from the start. After more than 40 kilometers, Michal Kwiatowski (INEOS Grenadiers) et Archie Ryan (EF Education-Easypost) were finally able to escape, quickly followed by Liam Slock (Lotto) et Michel Hessmann (Movistar Team). A few kilometers further, the American Kevin Vermaerke (Team Picnic Postnl) joined them to form a beautiful quintet, which could however never have hoped to play victory, the peloton completely citing the race, including an important work of the Lidl-Trek.
