The 80th edition of The return Starts this Saturday, August 23 with an online stage of 186.1 kilometers between Turin and Novare. Unlike recent editions, the Tour of Spain Do not start with a time trial but with a classic stage, a rarity in the history of the test since it is only the third time since 2000, after 2007 and 2020.

The departure will be given at 12:55 pm from Turin, for an arrival scheduled around 5.30pm in Novare. The route has a listed difficulty – a 3rd category neck in the first half of the stage – which will designate the first carrier of the mountain jersey. But the scenario of the day seems written: everything should be played in a massive sprint.
Among the favorites, two men stand out clearly: Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck), king of rapid arrivals, and Mads Pedersen (lidl-trek), capable of shining on this type of nervous final. They will appear great contenders for the first red jersey of this Vuelta.
