Valentin Paret-Peintre entered the legend, Tuesday July 22. The runner won at the top of Mont Ventoux after a stage in the reversing scenario. He is the first French winner on the Tour this year.

He waited for the ultimate turn to arise and live his big dream. Valentin Paret-Peintre is the fifth French winner of history at Mont Ventoux after Poulidor, Thévenet, Bernard and Virenque. At 24, he is already among the big ones. “I said to myself: 'Bug, I am in a position to win in the Ventoux. I did not believe it and I still do not believe it, by the way. It is one of the most mythical mountains in France and internationally. And today, I won here”he reacted, moved, after the race.
On the side of the road, make way for celebrations. After 16 days of waiting, the French finally hold their champion. “The first French victory is really nice because one took one on the Tour”comments a spectator.
A few hours earlier in the afternoon, Mont Chauve was no longer completely relaxed: a popular wave and thousands of tourists to admire the cyclists closely. “It's huge. We've been going up since this morning at 8 am and it's fabulous”says one of them. Carried by the crowd, the tour once again experienced a turning point on the slopes of a giant.
