Barcelona must generate funds this summer to be able to record all of its new potential recruits.
Joan Garcia, who is currently the only recruit, has not yet been recorded with the Liga, and a return to the ratio 1: 1 is necessary before this becomes possible.
Several candidates have been selected as potential departures. Ansu Fati has already left the club, while Pablo Torre will join him very soon. Marc-André Ter Stegen could also leave now that he has been informed that he would not be selected for next season, while at least a central defender should also leave the club.
Barcelona has Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martinez, Eric Garcia, Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen as central defensive options for next season, as well as the right defender Jules Koundé who can replace if necessary. The club therefore decided that someone could leave, but the problem is to convince someone to leave.
Araujo and Christensen are the two main candidates, but according to Diario AS, neither of them wishes to leave Barcelona this summer. They both returned earlier than expected for the pre-season, a sign of their determination to stay at the club and to make an effective contribution in 2025-2026.
Deco would prefer that Araujo remains
For this reason, Deco has a lot to do to try to make one of them leave. He would prefer that Christensen leaves, because he counts a lot on Araujo, who signed a new contract with Barcelona at the start of the year.

Araujo was associated with a departure.
It would be more logical than Christensen left, since his contract expires next summer and that at present, Barcelona does not intend to offer him an extension. However, he wants to stay, and coach Hansi Flick would also appreciate that he remains.
If the transfer of Araujo or Christensen cannot be concluded, it is possible that Eric Garcia leaves instead. However, Flick counts even more on him and plans to offer him a new contract in the coming weeks. If Spanish were to be sold, it would be considered a bitter failure for Deco.
