In the aftermath of a day marked by pro-Palestinian demonstrations, the runners of the Tour of Spain experienced a more normal stage on the roads, Thursday, September 4, between Laredo and Los Corrales de Buelna. And despite his conflict with his UAE Team Emirates-XRG team, Juan Ayuso was the strongest. The Spanish almost 23 years old raises his arms for the second time on this Vuelta after his victory during the seventh stage. The Emirati training already has five successes out of twelve stages (of which only eleven experienced a winner). The red jersey remains on the shoulders of Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease A Bike).

If Juan Ayuso had not appreciated at all that his team communicated on his departure at the end of the season during the Vuelta, accusing him of wanting “Drunch in his image” and qualifying it as “dictatorship”the Spaniard is still exemplary on the bike. A good team member for his leader Joao Almeida, he also grasped his luck to go and win stages when he can. And his teammates remain at his service, like Marc Soler who launched it in the Brenes Collada, the last ascent of the day, of first category.

Accompanied until the arrival by Javier Romo (Movistar), he preceded it in the last meters before the finish line. French Brieuc Rolland (Groupama-FDJ) completes the stage podium. Friday, the 13th stage will take the peloton on more mountainous roads, with an arrival at the top of the Angliru (pass classified out of category).
