The Parc des Princes is preparing to see the atmosphere evolve with the extension of the Ultra Paris collective to the Boulogne tribune.
As we take over the season, subscription campaigns are in full swing for league 1 supporters.
Paris Saint-Germainsuccess is there, with high demand in particular on the side of the Ultra Paris collective (CUP).
To respond to this craze, CUP, with the club agreement, decided to open the sale of subscriptions in the Boulogne gallery, located opposite Auteuil, historic cradle of the Ultra group. The objective is clear: “Even if the heart of the cup is in Auteuil, it is time to see bigger and to restore to the Parc des Princes the atmosphere it deserves, with two molten stands”said the collective, as reported by
RMC.
This ambitious initiative relaunches a sensitive debate. Relations between the two turns have long been marked by strong tensions, often fueled by political conflicts, which had led to violent clashes. These troubles had pushed former President Robin Leproux to ban the ultra movement at the Parc des Princes after the tragic death of the Yann Lorence supporter in 2010, which occurred during confrontations between members of the two stands.
A transformation that is not unanimous
Since 2016, thanks to the support of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the CUP has been able to reinvest the Auteuil tribune, thus regaining its historical place. The current desire of the group is to extend its influence to the rostrum opposite, Boulogne, to amplify the atmosphere in the stadium. Flags, megaphones and tifos will soon be authorized for a few hundred supporters installed in the upper part of this platform.
However, this decision is not unanimous internally.
“From my point of view, the CUP was born in the Auteuil gallery (…) for me, the Cup and the associations that compose it have nothing to do in the gallery opposite,”entrusts a member of the collective to RMC. This file promises to continue to be debated.
