Porto judicial police searched Boavista on Tuesday, suspected of economic crimes. She is investigating several corruption and mismanagement cases that led to the bankruptcy of the club led by Gérard Lopez and his relegation to the District Division. When the judicial police arrived, people were already inside the Bessa stadium and refused to open the door to the inspectors, claiming that he did not have the key. The authorities therefore had to force the entrance, reports the Morning Mail. The crimes in question are tax fraud, frustrated credits and money laundering, committed by management, accountants, a law firm and a legal audit firm.

In a statement, the PJ confirmed that six accused were appointed and that it made ten domiciliary and non -domiciliary search mandates, for acts under survey between 2023 and late 2024, linked to a group of companies related to the sports phenomenon and illegal profits estimated at around 10 million euros. Six accused, natural and legal persons, have been appointed and various documents relating to crimes under investigation, as well as computer equipment, were seized.
