OM accelerates its transfer window and attacks a young French talent followed by Saudi Arabia … A strategic file, but far from being simple to conclude.
Olympique de Marseille does not want to slow down its transfer window. After a convincing victory against Girona as a friendly, the Olympian leaders accelerate their substantive work in order to reshape the workforce. And among the new tracks activated in recent days, a profile intrigues as much as it seduces internally, to the point of having aroused concrete contact with its training club.
According to RMC Sport, It is Saimon Bouabré, a young 19 -year -old winger evolving at AS Monaco. Arrived in post-training in 2021, the French international U20 is considered to be one of the most promising elements of the rock. Appreciated by Roberto de Zerbi and the Marseille sports unit, Bouabré also aroused the interest of a pretender of weight: the newly active Neom SC, a newly active Saudi club in Ligue 1, with already several recruits like Lacazette or Bulka.
If the player is open to the idea of joining OM, competition from the Saudi club seriously complicates things. Neom would have made a salary offer deemed “XXL”, which could rebatter the cards. For its part, AS Monaco does not intend to sell off its jewel: the starting price is set at 10 million euros, a large sum for a player whose contract expires in a year.
OM aims for a French crack … but the threat comes from Arabia
The context therefore pushes Marseille to maneuver with caution. In parallel, the Marseille club continues to develop its workforce with ambition. Egan-Riley, Facundo Medina and Angel Gomes have already joined the commandery, and the Peaceao and Timothy Weah files remain open. Internally, there is a clear strategy: bet on youth and medium -term projection.
Saturday, after the meeting against Girona,
Sports director Mehdi Benatia assured that the Olympian transfer window was still “far from over”. Bouabré's potential arrival would be fully part of this logic, even if timing and competition make the file delicate. But one thing is certain: Marseille does not intend to stop there.
