After Boulogne-sur-Mer and Rouen, the Putanchers will already have a third opportunity to stand out this Thursday, July 10! The 6th stage of Tour de France promises to be animated and hilly again throughout the 201.5 km from the route connecting Bayeux (the hometown of a certain … Kévin Vauquelin, who will evolve at home) and Vire: with six listed ribs and no less than 3,550 meters of elevation, this 100 % Norman step has the appearance of a classic Ardennes and could surprise more than one. A useful route that should inspire attackers and backpackers, who may hold their first real chance to see the breakaway playing it from the start. Regardless of the scenario of the day, there will be a show and the final will be certainly decisive and not to be missed, with the sequence of the Côte de Vaudry (1.2 km at 7.1%) and the small final wall in Vire (750m to 8.9%) in the last 4 kilometers.

POGACAR, MVDP, VINGEGAARD … or a breakaway?
The opportunity to see a new confrontation between the three major protagonists of this first week, namely Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-DECEUNINCK) ET Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | lease a bike)? This trio has in any case clearly demonstrated that it was above the batch on this type of course from the start, and if the victory must be played between the best of the peloton, there is no doubt that one of these three will raise their arms. But faced with such domination, the only chance of the rest of the runners is to try from afar and to attack, and we should thus attend at the start of the stage at the first very big battle of this Tour To take the right breakaway. And if the latter is well supplied and does not represent a danger for the general, it is likely that she can go to the end, the UAE team of the new Pogacar yellow jersey having no great interest in defending any price of leading a little bulky leader so early in the race.
Among the many pumnors and backpackers to hope for this scenario and to be able to aim for victory on arrival, we think of Romain Grégoire (Groupama-FDJ), Aurélien Paret-Peintre, Bastien Tronchon (Decathlon Ag2r La Mondiale), Marc Hirschi, Julian Alaphilippe (Tudor Pro Cycling Team), Joe Blackmore, Alexey Lutsenko (Israel-Premier Tech), Jenno Berckmoes (Lotto), Dylan Teuns (COFIDIS) Alexandre Delettre, Mathieu Burgaudeau (TotaalEnergies), Neilson Powless, Ben Healy, Alex Baudin (EF Education-EasyPost), Louis Barré (Intermarché-Wanty), Mauro Schmid (Team Jayco-AlUla), Clement Champoussin (XDS Astana Team) … and of course so many others depending on the composition of the breakaway. And we will carefully follow the attitude of the local Kévin Vauquelin on his lands (we pass 2 km from the village of his parents after departure), because even if we imagine the 3rd of the general and the French attraction of this first week to benefit from a outing, no doubt that he will do everything to animate the stage and try to triumph at home!
