JOAO ALMEIDA started a long way of the cross this Saturday on the occasion of the 8th stage of Tour de France. Indeed, in the aftermath of his fall, the Portuguese and his team UAE Team Emirates XRG have decided to continue the tour, despite a broken coast and a sore hand. At the back of the peloton much of the day, Almeida still managed to finish the stage, hoping for better days.

“I don't want to be a useless runner in the peloton”

“I want to be here to help as much as I can, I don't want to be a useless runner in the peloton. I really want to help the team, in any way”said Almeida on arrival. “Each hole in the road is painful, as soon as I get up from the seal is painful … But it's part of cycling. But it's not just me, we are strong people. Hoping to have better days, even if it could be worse.”
