He definitely leaves no suspense. Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates XRG), which had already crushed competition the day before in Hautacam, pocketed a second stage victory in a row, Friday July 18, during the 13th stage in the Pyrenees between Loudenvielle and Peyragudes.

The Slovenian, who already gleaned his fourth success in this edition, relegated Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike), yet solid second, at 36 seconds and a Primoz Roglic (Red-Bull Bora-Hansgrohe) found and third, at 1'20 '', in front of his teammate Florian Lipowitz. Long holder of the reference time before the departure of the favorites, the Australian Luke Plapp (Jayco-Alula) finally finished fifth.

For Tadej Pogacar, it is a fourth bouquet in the tribute to the Tour de France (after the Plate des Belles Filles in 2020, Laval in 2021 and Nice in 2024), and the sign that he has no intention of sparing the suspense. And this, despite the very good performance of its Danish runner -up, the best of others, by far, in this edition. “We rebounded, it was a terrible day for us yesterday. Until the final climb, I felt good. Being able to come back like that today, it's good for us. It was very disappointing yesterday, it was not my usual level. I think in me”, a positivé Jonas Vingegaard.

Remco Evenepoel (Sudal Quick-Step), who had already suffered the day before, made him the underperformance of the day by finishing out of the top 10 (12th), at 2'39 “of the winner. “I did not have the legs I wanted. I felt like empty. I did the prep as it should be but yesterday it was not good and today it was worse. I did not focus on Vingegaard. It is a very low performance”admitted the world champion for the exercise, who was doubled just before the finish line by the Danish, yet left two minutes after him.

In the rest of the world, it was Lenny Martinez (Bahrain-Victorious) who signed the best performance on the French side by finishing ninth (+2'21 ''), while Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa-B & B Hotels) finished in 11th place, 2'35 '' of the winner yellow jersey.

Among the other tricolors, Julian Alaphilippe (Tudor) finished 17th at 3'03, while Bruno Armirail (Decathlon-Ag2r La Mondiale), 4th in the first time in Caen, finished 19th (3'12). Bryan Coquard (Cofidis), victim of a finger fracture during a refueling Thursday, participated in the time but has already announced that he would not take the start on Saturday.

In the general classification, Tadej Pogacar, which now has 21 bouquets on the large loop in five participations, continues to widen the gap already gaping with its opponents. His dolphin Jonas Vingegaard points Friday evening to more than four minutes (4'07 '') while Remco Evenepoel, which completes the podium, is downright more than seven minutes (7'24 ''). Florian Lipowitz, Primoz Roglic's teammate, goes back to fourth place in the general classification, while Kévin Vauquelin is still the first tricolor, but slides with a row (6th, +8'15 '').
