Licensed in December 2020 for having publicly supported Sébastien Thoen, Stéphane Guy has just won his judicial show against Canal+.
This is the end of a long showdown. This June 25, 2025, the Paris Court of Appeal canceled the dismissal of Stéphane Guy, believing that the journalist had not abused his freedom of expression.
The chain is ordered to pay him more than € 700,000 under non -perceived wages.
“The court considered that he should never have been dismissed,” said his lawyer, Maître Olivier Khatcikian, evoking a strong decision in favor of freedom of expression.
Stéphane Guy Joyeux
Guy will therefore be able to reintegrate Canal+ from the next school year, a return he welcomes with joy, “without resentment and with intact passion”.
Since his ouster, the ex-fellowshipman had continued his career on RMC Sport, especially in After Foot. Canal+ has not yet officially reacted.
