Like every year for 5 years, The French Football Federation has unveiled its ranking of the best training centers in France. In this 2024/2025 season, they were 33 on the starting line (18 in Ligue 1, 11 in Ligue 2 and 4 in National) and it was the Stade Rennais which won with a note of 4.6 out of 5. Better yet, the Breton club retains its crown but the gap is slightly tightening with its closest competitors. Last year the residents of the Roazhon Park inherited a 4.75, largely ahead of OL and its 4.2 points. This year, PSG takes 2nd place in this ranking with a 4.53, ahead of AS Monaco (4.08). OL retrograde in 4th place, while OM is still lagging behind in terms of training with a 15th place in Ligue 1. 4 clubs in Ligue 2 (Ajaccio, Caen, Lorient and Metz) even ahead of Phocaeans in the global ranking.

To define its classification, the FFF relies on 5 main criteria valued over the last 5 seasons. Come into play the professionalization (number of players U16 to U23 under professional contract and evolving in the first two divisions of the first ten countries in the UEFA and the National ranking), playing time in the first team of the training club, the national selections (number of international meetings disputed by the players, without distinction of nation), the player's school path (diplomas obtained), and European representation (players evolving in clubs UEFA). We can better understand the successes of Rennes, which is largely based on its players trained in its academy (lately such, gifted, truffer and lately Cissé and Meïté), but also PSG (Zaïre-Emery, Mayulu, Mbaye) and AS Monaco (Ben Seghir, Akliouche, Magassa, Michal).
