Fatigue? What fatigue? Present in Rwanda three days earlier and crowned world champion of the time trial in Kigali, the Belgian Remco Evenepoel and the Swiss Marlen Reusser made a double by winning on the time of the European championships, Wednesday October 1 in Drôme-Ardèche.

Both crushed the pedals as much as the competition, by rejecting the second Filippo Ganna (Italy) at 43 seconds for Evenepoel, and the second Mie BjORndal Ottestad (Norway) at 49 seconds to repeat, on a 24 -kilometer route.

The Movistar cyclist wins her fourth European title in the discipline. This is the second for Remco Evenepoel, after that won in 2019. In its rainbow outfit of world champion in the discipline and with its golden helmet of Olympic champion, Remco Evenepoel panicked the times, notably replacing the Swiss Stefan Küng, who left a minute before him.

The Belgian, already national champion, world and Olympic on the road and in the background, will try to win the only title he is missing: that of European road champion on Sunday. But the competition will be formidable, with Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard in particular.

On the French side, Bruno Armirail finished 9th and Rémi Cavagna 13th. Among women, Juliette Labous ended in 6th place, and Cédrine Kerbaol in 9th place.
