Who will join Chelsea in the final? Winner of Fluminense (2-0), the London club has already insured a place in the final of the Club World Cup. The other semi-final promises an exceptional shock between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, scheduled for Wednesday at 9 p.m. (French time). This match will especially mark the comeback of Kylian Mbappé, now under the Madrid colors, facing his old club.
Luis Enrique will however have to deal with two major absences in defense: Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez, both excluded during the victory against Bayern Munich (2-0), were suspended by the FIFA discipline commission until the end of the tournament. In agreement with the sports management, the two players have already left the group to enjoy the early vacation.
Paris Saint-Germain without Pacho and Hernandez
For this important match, PSG will align Dembélé in the axis of the attack, while Kvaratskhelia will occupy the left side and desired Doué will be placed on the right wing. In the midfield, the composition will remain classic with Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha and João Neves. In defense, the absence of a Pacho will be felt, replaced by Beraldo, while Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes and Hakimi will occupy their usual positions.
On the Real Madrid side, the feeling of the moment, Gonzalo García, will start the meeting as a holder. Mbappé will be a priori on the bench. “Golzalo” will be supported by Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior attack. In the midfield, Arda Güler, Aurélien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde form an additional trio. In defense, Asencio will evolve alongside Antonio Rüdiger in the axis, while Fran García and Trent Alexander-Arnold will occupy the corridors. In goals, Thibaut Courtois naturally keeps his place. Real Madrid will also have to do without a key defense element. Author of a globally solid performance against Borussia Dortmund, the young central defender Dean Huijsen was expelled in stoppage.
