The Real Madrid striker Rodrygo Goes seems to leave the club this summer, but his destination remains a question that considerably complicates his departure.

The Brazilian was very courted last summer, Liverpool and Manchester City considering a transfer, but this is no longer the case today.

Although the new coach Xabi Alonso said that Rodrygo would be “important” in his team, the 24 -year -old striker was only established once in the six games played by Real Madrid as part of the Club World Cup. If we go back to the final of the Copa del Rey, his tenure against al-Hilal is his only one in 11 games. The Merengues should meet Rodrygo this week to discuss his future.

Rodrygo pushed towards the exit

The main pretender linked to Rodrygo was Arsenal. The Gunners were apparently interested in him, but not at a price of 90 million euros set by Real Madrid. Cadena Ser says this award is too high for the Premier League clubs interested in him and that Arsenal no longer plans to recruit him. Their transfers of Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke (Chelsea) have considerably reduced the need to sign Rodrygo, even if they say that the chances are not completely zero.

Liverpool's interest also depends on other transactions

More recently, Rodrygo was associated with a transfer to Liverpool, who had inquired about his availability last summer. However, after spending a lot of money for Florian Wirtz, Liverpool is now interested in Alexander Isak, from Newcastle United, two transactions that would constitute records for the club. If Liverpool were to recruit Isak, this would also exclude this option.

If Rodrygo remains, Alonso will have to manage a delicate problem from the start. So far, Alonso has mainly used two systems, a 3-5-2 and a 4-3-3 in general terms. The first is not naturally suitable for Rodrygo, unlike Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappé and Gonzalo Garcia, while the second would probably require Rodrygo to be a right -of -defense winger, a task that he has struggled to accomplish so far. The Basque manager clearly indicated that Rodrygo was not an integral part of his plans, and he may have to repair his relations with the Brazilian.
