The peloton continues its Norman route. The 6th stage of the Tour de France 2025 starts from Bayeux, Thursday July 10, to go to Vire Normandie. On the program for runners, a 201.5 km route with the rugged profile, with a succession of ribs throughout the stage, including four in the last 70 kilometers.

What is the profile?

It is a chase-and-plated course offered at the peloton with more than 200 kilometers, 3,500 m of elevation gain and six climbs listed on the program, one of 4th category and five of 3rd category. The first, the Côte du Mont Pinçon (5.6 km at 3.7%), is scheduled from the 35th kilometer. The Rançonnière coast will follow (2.2 km at 7.9%), per kilometer 56.

The bumps will then follow in the last 70 kilometers of the stage, with the Côte de Mortain Cote 314 (1.6 km at 9.5%), the Côte de Juvigny-le-Terre (2.2 km at 7.3%), and the Saint-Michel-de-Montjoie coast (3.7 km at 4.5%). Last difficulty less than five kilometers from the line, the Vaudry coast (1.2 km at 7.2%), a little less violent, will bring the peloton to the finish, also in a final wall, not listed (700 m to 10%).

What favorites?

On his lands, departing from his hometown, Bayeux, difficult not to quote Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa B&B Hotels) among the runners with a blow to play. In legs since the departure of Lille, the French rose on the third step in the general classification at the end of the time trial on Wednesday. In the tricolor clan, Romain Grégoire (Groupama-FDJ) and Julian Alaphilippe (Tudor Pro Cycling) also have punchers to make differences on this type of layout.

Mathieu Van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck), winner in Boulogne-sur-Mer of a 2nd stage also with the rugged profile, and Wout Van Aert (Visma-Lease A Bike) will also be monitored. The yellow jersey Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) and its rival Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease A Bike) could also compete for the final victory in Vire Normandie.
