A legendary final. The runners start their short stay in Brittany, with a departure scheduled for Saint-Malo, Friday July 11. After 197 km from an accidental course, the Plunters should compete for a hell of a battle in the last kilometers, with two passages by the Côte de Mûr-de-Bretagne (2 km at 6.9 km), the place of the arrival of this 7th stage. It is also the fifth time in 14 editions that a stage ends in this mythical place in the world of cycling, which will honor the successes of the local Bernard Hinault, five times winner of the Tour de France between 1978 et 1985.
Unsurprisingly, the favorites will be the same as during step 6, from Bayeux to Vire. Remote of the yellow jersey, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Teamemirates XRG) should be in the fight with Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease A Bike), and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck). The Dutchman, who resumed the yellow jersey at Slovenian on Thursday, will actually want to win, four years after winning the stage during the last coming of the Grande Boucle in the small Breton town. Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe (Tudor Pro Cycling Team) will also want to test himself in front of these three Cadors.
