Marseille confirmed its position concerning the future of Mason Greenwood, following requests for transfer of Serie A and Saudi Arabia.

The sports director of Marseille insisted that the club did not wish to sell Greenwood and considered the English striker as a key element of his workforce. The 23 -year -old joined the Ligue 1 club from Manchester United last year and had a first productive season in front of the goal. However, during the summer transfer window, his name was mentioned by Italian clubs, notably Inter Milan, recent finalist of the Champions League, as well as by Saudi teams.

Marseille spent 27.5 million pounds Sterling (31.6 million euros) to recruit Greenwood from Manchester United, and the newspaper L'Equipe recently said that it would take an offer of 44 million pounds Sterling (50 million euros) to consider separating from the attacker.

However, the director of the club, Medhi Benatia, seems to have excluded any departure, saying that the Phocaeans do not wish to sell a player author of 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season.
