A few hours before the big start of the Club World Cup, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of the European Club Association (ECA) and PSG, held a strong speech during a meeting in Miami upstream of the Club World Cup. The presidents of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, and the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol), Alejandro Dominguez, the FIFA development director of FIFA, Arsène Wenger, as well as representatives of the Confédérations and eleven clubs of ECA, were present.
«The Club World Cup will become a historic competition and offer tangible profits to all clubs, with a forecast of $ 250 million in solidarity for non -participating clubs. We are longtime partners of FIFA and, together, we are committed to pursuing a strategy that will support the overall growth of football at the level of male and female clubs. The ECA has supported this tournament from the start and we wish a lot of success in the organization of the first edition here in the United States. We are proud to work alongside our participating clubs to contribute to the success of the tournament and ensure that integrated solidarity commitments benefit clubs across Europe and the whole world»
