Coveted by several Ligue 1 clubs, the Georgian international Georges Mikautadze decided for his future at OL.

Determined to “restore strict financial discipline”, Olympique Lyonnais had to face several requests concerning one of its major attacking advantages: Georges Mikautadze. According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, two Ligue 1 clubs – Paris FC, recently promoted, and Stade Rennais – tried to seduce the Georgian striker this summer.

Despite these proposals, the player preferred to decline them. An assertive decision which testifies to his desire to impose himself among the Gones and to play a central role in the Lyon project.

Mikautadze takes power

Mikautadze therefore promises to be one of the most scrutinized players at Ol this season. Now leader of the attack after the departure of Alexandre Lacazette, the former Messinndev will meet expectations and assume his new responsibilities.

The number 69 already showed the way on the first day of Ligue 1. against the RC Lens (1-0) last Saturday, the child of Lyon offered the victory to his team by scoring the only goal of the meeting.
