The English media reveal a strong interest of Tottenham for the French center center Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Particularly active during this transfer window, Tottenham completed its shopping with the recruitment of Randal Kolo Muani. The French striker joined the ranks of Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain, in the form of a loan without option to buy.
Before turning to Le Bondynois, the London club also had another goalscorer from France in the viewfinder: Jean-Philippe Mateta. According to Sky Sports This Thursday, an approach was even attempted with the star player of Crystal Palace.
58 million euros on the table
Tottenham however encountered the refusal of the Eagles to let Mateta spin, whose contract runs until June 2027. The Lillywhites were not the only ones to have checked the name of the native of Sevran.
Clubs whose identity has not been revealed have also tried their luck on this file. The British media evokes offers around 58 million euros of contenders playing in the Champions League this season, but without success.
