Mason Greenwood is about to return to the international scene after obtaining Jamaican nationality and a new passport.

Greenwood competed in only one meeting with England before being banished by Manchester United in 2023 and has been working since a change of allegiance that would allow him to return to the international scene.

International return after five years

Obtaining Jamaican nationality by Greenwood means that he is in the running to be selected for his country for the first time in five years. According to BBC Sport, the Marseillais also obtained a new passport to finalize his retraining.

Greenwood obtains a Jamaican passport

Greenwood recruitment is part of a campaign led by Jamaica and its coach Steve McClaren to recruit players born in the United Kingdom and with origins related to this Caribbean country. Since the abandonment of accusations of attempted rape against him, the 23-year-old has been under the orders of Roberto de Zerbi in Marseille and has also been associated with a transfer to Al-Nassr de Cristiano Ronaldo.
