FC Barcelona is strongly linked to the Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, who seems to be the most logical option for the Catalan giant this summer.
The liga champion, however, has not yet made an official offer for Rashford.
Rashford was offered to the Catalan club in January, and he waited until the Mercato until the last days for a potential offer from Barcelona. The 27 -year -old would be desperate to sign for the club and would be ready to wait again a transfer this summer, having said that he was also ready to accept a significant salary reduction.
Why did Barcelona not make an offer for Rashford
The signature of Luis Diaz, who was the priority, like compromise, Rashford seems to be the most likely option. Manchester United is ready to sell Rashford this summer for 45 million euros, but MD explains that Barcelona does not intend to spend a lot on English international. While the sports director Deco would not be convinced by the transfer of Rashford, the Catalan newspaper says that the conditions of the agreement should be “very favorable” for Barcelona. Manager Hansi Flick gave the green light for the transfer.

This includes the salary reduction mentioned above, but potentially a loan with purchase option, rather than a direct transfer. Manchester United wishes to definitively break his ties with Rashford, and Barcelona considers that “the ball is in the Rashford camp” to conclude this agreement, after multiple contacts with his brother Agent and Arturo Canales, his other representative.
They add that Barcelona has other options on his list which could agree, but which, because of their age, would have a high price. After the signing of Vitor Roque, Barcelona hesitated to recruit a younger player before he was ready. The names previously mentioned are Bryan Zaragoza, Christopher Nkunku, Antonio Nusa and Rafael Leao. The first would be the cheapest, the others seem unlikely.
