According to the Manchester Evening NewsManchester United has established a list of young players from the Academy, all over the age of 18, which he would be willing to let go this summer. The club even offered their names to other teams, which surprised certain recruiters, given the sums sometimes invested to attract them. Families and agents also said they were not having been consulted, although the club claims to have exchanged directly with the players concerned.
United would consider giving them free of charge or for low compensation, provided you include advantageous resale clauses. The club justifies this strategy by the rules of profit and sustainability (PSR), which push to better value the elements not appearing in the plans of the first team. Deep changes would be underway at the Academy, in a context of cost reduction.
