Kobbie Mainoo is determined to leave Manchester United before closing the summer transfer window on September 1.
The young midfielder, who fell into disgrace under the direction of Ruben Amorim, made his debut in the colors of United this season against Grimsby Town in Carabao Cup. He was however back on the bench during the 3-2 victory of the club in the Premier League against Burnley on Saturday.

According to the Daily Mail, Mainoo remains determined to leave his childhood club this summer, because he would be disappointed and frustrated by his lack of playing time under the direction of Amorim. After making his debut in the 2025-26 season, in the second round of the Carabao Cup against Grimsby Town last week, Mainoo was again holder in the Premier League match against Burnley on Saturday.
Mainoo wishes to obtain an Old Trafford loan before closing the summer transfer window on Monday. He wants to play regularly and ensure a place in the England team for the World Cup in North America next year. The Red Devils, on the other hand, are categorical: they will not let the midfielder leave without finding an appropriate replacement.
Mainoo played against Burnley after Matheus Cunha's injury. Bruno Fernandes being promoted number 10, the young player took the post of captain in the axial midfielder. Although the severity of Cunha's injury remains unknown, it seems that the Brazilian has undergone an injury to the hamstring and could spend a long period out of the grounds.
