Initially planned for this Monday, the pre-season of Liverpool will finally start a day later, this Tuesday, according to the Liverpool Echo. This decision follows the tragic death of their teammate Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, in a road accident Thursday in Spain. The Portuguese scorer partners among the Reds moved to Gondomar, Portugal, to attend the funeral of the two brothers this Saturday.
The first players were expected on Friday at the AXA Training Center, before the others joined them this Monday. The new date will therefore bring together the whole team this Tuesday. The first friendly match of the Reds is scheduled for this Sunday, July 13, but the meeting may not be maintained. Still according to the British daily, the decision will be made after consulting the players and the Liverpool staff.
