This year, the Lille is hosting the big departure of the Tour de France. While waiting for the start of Saturday July 5, inhabitants and runners share their joy.
A Lille pastry has put yellow, but also green on its pies, before the big departure of the Tour de France 2025, scheduled for Saturday July 5 in the northern capital. “Many tourists and families are there for the event”explains a saleswoman. Most hotels in the region are full. Friday, July 4, the little memories of the Tour tear, even though the race has not yet started.
“The North is really a fan of bike, so, for us, it's magic”explains a man who came specially for the occasion. “Even if I don't cycle, I'm still in the mood”admits another resident. Thursday evening, Lille (North), put the runners of the Tour in the spotlight. They are 184 at the start this year, but the Ch'tis were thousands to acclaim them. Absent last year, runner Julian Alaphilippe, of the Tudor Pro Cycling team, never tires of the excitement of the Tour.
