A last dance in the French mountains. While the peloton is preparing to compete in the last two stages of the publishing, a last day in the mountains will take place, Friday, July 25, on the occasion of the 19th stage between Albertville and La Plagne. After the terrible triptych of the day before towards the Col de la Loze and the victory of Ben O'Connor, the favorites in the general classification Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard could well compete for the stage victory.

What profile?

A 100% Savoyard step. After a sprint located just eight kilometers from the departure, in Albertville, the first difficulty – the Héry -sur -Ugine coast (11.3 km at 5.1%) – will arrive quickly, after 18.3 km of racing. The runners will then be confronted with a chain of climbs and descents, with in particular the first off-category wall of the stage, the Prés pass (12.6 km at 7.7%).

The final ascent will take place in the Hors-Category Col of La Plagne, which is still trying for runners, and will seem all the more endless with its 19.1 kilometers at 7.2%. It will also be the first time in 23 years that a round of the Tour will arrive in this station located at 2,052 meters above sea level.

What favorites?

After the victory of Ben O'Connor during the queen stage of this 112nd edition, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) may well try to reconnect with the success at the top of the Plagne. Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease A Bike) should try to follow him, while other climbers, outsiders, may invite themselves at the top of the race for a large part of the stage.

Thus, Thynem Arensman (Ineos Grenadiers), Felix Gall (Décathlon Ag2r La Mondiale), Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain Victorious) or Primoz Roglic (Red Bull – Bora – Hansgrohe) could be tempted to resist the current yellow jersey. The Frenchman Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) should also be present at the front to glean a few points and try to win back his best climber tunic.
