Last step in the mountain of publishing and a change of course. While the runners were preparing to travel 129.9 km of a five-difficult stage, they will finally perform 95 km of racing with two less difficulties, the Côte d'Héry-sur-Ugine and the Col des Entries, Friday, July 25. The two passes out of categories – The Col du Pré (12.6 km at 7.7%) and the final rise in La Plagne (19.1 km at 7.2%) – will however remain on the program for this 19th stage.
The yellow jersey, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) will appear as a favorite of this stage, alongside his direct opponent, Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-lease a Bike), which is 4'26 “delay on the Slovenian in the general classification.
The course should also be favorable to climbers of the peloton, who will seek to win. Thus, Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain Victorious), Ben O'Connor (Team Jayco Alula) or Primoz Roglic (Red Bull – Bora – Hansgrohe) could be tempted to invite himself at the top of the race. It remains to be seen whether the French Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) will try to reconquer his tunic of best climber, owned by “Pogi”.
