Real Madrid could be offered an exceptional opportunity to recruit Ibrahima Konaté, defensive star of Liverpool, this summer.

Xabi Alonso recruited three new defenders, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, former Konaté teammate.

The interest in the French international dates back to July, following the rumors that he would not extend to Anfield.

Konaté has been in contractual negotiations in the Merseyside since early 2025, his current contract expiring at the end of 2025/26, and the club management wishes a response before the end of August.

Liverpool is desperately looking to avoid a free departure from Konaté in 2026, but this is what Real Madrid plans for him.

The Merengues are always annoyed to have to pay a transfer compensation to free Alexander-Arnold from the last weeks of his contract in Liverpool, when they were convinced to recruit him for free.

Much appreciated konaté

Barcelona would also be interested in one offer, PSG being another potential pretender. Liverpool will sell to the most offering if his last contract offer is rejected.

Liverpool has set the sale price of Konaté

According to the latest information from Mundo Deportivo, via sources in Liverpool, the Premier League champion confirmed the price requested after refusing Konaté's wage requirements.

The rumor runs that Konaté would require about £ 200,000 per week to accept an extension, which would represent a salary increase of more than 100 %.

It is unacceptable to Liverpool, who has already recruited the Italian international U19 Giovanni Leoni to replace Konaté.

Liverpool informed all interested parties he would study the offers of around 35 million pounds sterling in the last days of the transfer window.

It is well above the ceiling of 21 million pounds sterling from Real Madrid, and the Liga giants could wait until next summer, hoping that PSG will not offer Liverpool.
