Just after the “Reveal” of the home jersey and the AS Saint-Etienne goalkeeper jersey, Michaël Didier, Marketing Manager at Hummel, spoke to our microphone to explain the brand's choices in making these new outfits.

Michaël Didier First comes back to the home jersey: “On the home jersey, we wanted to make the story that was told by this design concrete. Finally, it is a set of know-how, inheritance, history of the Stéphanois territory. Our intention was really to make things concrete and respect the initial intention. We wanted everyone to understand and appropriate the story we wanted to tell with these pictograms.”

Marketing manager at Hummel then speaks on the goalkeeper jersey: “The goalkeeper jerseys, they were at one time and have become jerseys again that we want to highlight where the equipment manufacturers often let go a little more, they are often a little more colorful. We continue to be in this rule. This is not a specific design for the club, some other clubs in Germany or Spain will have this version on the jersey. On the other hand, the color combinations are really unique at the club. It allows us to put forward one of the heroes of the game and the field which is the goalkeeper, who is a very specific full -fledged player.”

Michaël Didier Then speaks on the event at the City of Design which surrounded the revelation of these jerseys: “This is one more step, it is always a certain pride, a certain emotion. It is like the first time that we open the package with the first test. We know very well that it will not be the last jersey, the perfect copy, but there is always excitement. (…) Seeing him on players is additional satisfaction, seeing him about ten meters high in front of all fans, we arrive at the final realization of the project. It's good, everyone has seen it, it is no longer reserved for a few people in privacy. Now we can talk about it, explain it, put it forward. Everyone has to appropriate it. It is also the goal of a jersey. We will see him worn in the of course stadium but also now in the street, in a music festival, at home. The goal is really for us to bring a jersey that allows any Stéphanois fan, or more broadly football, to be proud of the jersey he wears.”
