The French team easily qualified for the round of 16 of the European Championships. Winner first of Spain (3-1), the Blues dispatched the Hungarians (3-0) for their second group match. They therefore finish first in their group and will play again on Thursday in the round of 16. Félix Lebrun looks back at the start of the competition.

Félix Lebrun, we were wondering if you were going to have a pledge because you are the only one to have lost a set today?

Maybe, we'll see what they tell me, I don't hope (laughs). They were good, they played complete matches. I was in position two so I played the opposing number one. We knew it wasn't an easy match for me, we know him, he plays in the Bundesliga, he's had some good performances already. We knew he could play big matches. I'm happy to win anyway and to win this match 3-0.

We have the impression that the team is gradually entering its competition?

Yes, that’s it, clearly. This was the objective of the group stages. Very happy. A 3-0 victory as a team is nice, and now we have two days of break. We will train well to prepare for a second tournament which begins with the start of the eighth on Thursday.

How will these two days work together?

We'll talk about it right after. I think we will do two sessions tomorrow, and then maybe a physical session the next day. But we have to talk about it, it also depends on the players, it depends on each individual in fact. We try to prepare as best as possible individually to be as ready as possible for the team behind.

Overall, how do you feel since the start of the competition?

I feel good, everything is going well. We have great conditions, the room is magnificent. In training I feel good. For the moment in matches, I think I can do better. I can still gain strength. This is the objective of the two days of training. I made a few mistakes on my forehand today that I would like to avoid. We have time to prepare well. Like I said, it's a second tournament starting from Thursday, so it's going to be quite exciting and we're looking forward to it.

We saw you with an ice pack, is there any pain in your arm?

Yes, on one point, but the left arm, improbable. This hasn't happened to me often. But nothing very important. I put a little ice to remove the inflammation. It's not much, it'll be fine.
