Almost half of the booty. Five bikes from the Cofidis team were found on Sunday July 6 in the evening, not far from the hotel, learned Franceinfo: Sport, confirming information from The team. During the night of Saturday to Sunday, 11 bikes, of a value ranging from 10,000 and 13,000 euros had been stolen, after the first stage of this 112nd edition of the Tour de France.
The door of the Atelier truck was forced in front of their hotel near Lille. According to the northern training, the advanced hypothesis would be that the burglars had to abandon the five bikes because their van was too small. The eight runners had however been able to start the second stage. Bike flights are regular on cycling races -tatalenergies was also stolen 11 bikes last year during the Tour- and constitute an obsession for the teams.
