Six weeks from the start of the 2025-2026 season, FC Nantes begins a daring turn: goodbye to the old nucleus, hello to youth. Under the leadership of Luis Castro, the Canaries resume training this Monday, June 30.

For this recovery day, the youthful cure is total at FC Nantes: several historic executives, especially in the defensive sector, have bowed out. In parallel, young people from the training center and loan returns energize the workforce, redrawn around promising hopes. The message is clear: bet on training, financial breathing … and ambition found to unite the fervent supporters again.

Why this choice? After a halftone 2024-2025 season, marked by a harsh struggle for maintenance and then the departure of Kombouaré in May, the management of FC Nantes opted for a long-term strategy. Luis Castro, known for his taste for work with young people and his offensive energy, embodies this new philosophy. The training center, based in La Jonelière, will play a central role in this project. From now on, young shoots will be directly integrated into the pro group, in a transition designed to irrigate the first team. It remains to be seen whether this policy will pay right away. Experience shows that the balance between youth and competitiveness is difficult to find.

This Monday afternoon, Ouest-France Ensures that Castro will normally have a group of 17 field players and four goalkeepers: Anthony Lopes, Patrik Carlgren, Alban Lafont and the new Alexis Mirbach will be the doormen. Behind, are expected Kelvin Amian, Fabien Centonze, the young Sekou Doucouré, Moutanabi Bodiang, Mathieu Acapandié and Tylel Tati and the Serbian Radakovic recruit. Eliminated in the semi-finals of the Euro Hopes, Nathan Zézé has ten days of more vacation. Jean-Kevin Duverne and Jean-Charles Castelletto, called for matches with their selection, will not return until July 7.
