Recruited for free from Chelsea originally, its sale would represent a net profit for Barça, which explains the opening of the Catalan club to a possible departure, especially since that would reduce the payroll.
Flick appreciates the qualities of Christensen
However, Christensen does not seem in a hurry to leave. He could choose to honor his contract to the end in order to leave freely in 2026. This strategy includes a risk for him, because the coming season is crucial for the World Cup. From a sporting point of view, coach Hansi Flick currently has five options in central defense (Cubarsí, Iñigo Martínez, Eric Garcia, Araujo and Christensen).
Eric Garcia, in particular, offers a certain versatility, which could play against the Danish.
