Tadej Pogacar again winner and again in yellow. The Slovenian won the 7th stage of the Tour de France, Friday July 11, by beating the best pumnies in Mûr-de-Bretagne. He signed his second victory for this edition, three days after his success in Rouen, and dethroned a Mathieu Van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) who was not able to follow the best in the final. Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease A Bike) took second place in the sprint.

Everything will have been played in Mûr-de-Bretagne. Eight runners managed to introduce himself for the final sprint after an infernal pace printed by the UAE team. Oscar Onley (Picnic Postnl), third of the stage, Remco Evenepoel (Sudal Quick-Step), Felix Gall (Decathlon-Ag2r La Mondiale), Matteo Jorgenson (Visma-Lease A Bike), Jhonatan Narvaez (Uae Team Emirates XRG) and the French Kévin Vauquelin, 7th, were the only ones The wheel of the two favorites in the general classification. He missed a few meters at Axel Laurance (ineos grenadiers) to mingle with the final packaging.

In the general classification, Tadej Pogacar now has 54 seconds ahead of Remco Evenepoel and 1'17 “on Jonas Vingegaard, current fourth, just behind Kévin Vauquelin (3rd at 1'11”). The Slovenian also recovers the head from the classification of the green jersey.

A few kilometers before this Cadors sprint, a fall at high speed and downhill disrupted the approach of the final. Tadej Pogacar teammate, Joao Almeida fell heavily alongside Guillaume Martin-Guyonnet (Groupama-FDJ), Enric Mas (Movistar), Louis Barré (Intermarché-Wanty) or the two climbers of Bahrain-Victorious, Santiago Buitrago and Jack Haig. The latter was forced to abandon.

The first French victory over this Tour de France is still long in coming. Two tricolors appeared in the breakaway of the day which was resumed before the last ascent. Five runners in total had managed to leave the peloton after 55 km of racing. Among them, the two French people Alex Baudin (EF-Education Easypost) and the local Ewen Costiou (Arkéa-B & B Hotels), the winner of the 2018 Tour Geraint Thomas (ineos grenadiers), Ivan Garcia Cortina (Movistar) and Marco Haller (Tudor). Costiou was the last survivor of this race movement. Breton was only resumed 12 km from the finish. He will console himself with the price of the most combative runner of the day.
