The complete route of the Tour de France 2026 is revealed on Thursday in Paris, and the 15th stage will arrive at the Solaison plateau, in Haute-Savoie, for an unprecedented finish.
The organizers of the Tour de France look for new passages every year, and in 2026, it will be the Solaison plateau, in Haute-Savoie. The place, perched at an altitude of 1,508 meters above the town of Bonneville, will be the scene of the finish of the 15th stage, on July 19. The rest of the Grande Boucle route will be revealed on Thursday October 23 in Paris.
To reach the finish at the Solaison plateau, the runners will tackle 11.3 kilometers of ascent, at an average of 9.2%, on a very narrow road throughout the climb. The Critérium du Dauphiné had already paved the way for the Tour de France, with arrivals at the same place in 2017 and 2022. Earlier in this 15th stage, starting from Champagnole in the Jura, the peloton will have already climbed the Salève (Col de la Croisette), by its hardest side (4.2 kilometers at 11.2%). Enough to sort among the runners, in a day which promises to widen the gaps in the general classification.
