According to information from Globo EsporteCarlo's son will take the reins of Botafogo, title champion of Brasileirão and Copa Libertadores. The Rio de Janeiro club finalized the agreement after accelerating discussions in recent hours.
This decision follows the dismissal of the former Renato Paiva coach by John Textor, following the elimination of the Brazilian club in the knockout stages of the Club World Cup against Palmeiras (0-1). After being Carlo Ancelotti's assistant during his visit to Real Madrid, Davide was part of the staff of the Brazilian selection, still alongside his father, but had no exclusivity contract with the Brazilian football confederation. Botafogo will face Vasco de Gama this Saturday in the league, but Davide Ancelotti should not yet be on the bench. It would be replaced by the temporary coach Cláudio Caçapa.
