Let's go for the 82nd edition of Poland Tour ! The Polish WorldTour Stage Race set off on Monday for a week of competition, and a massive sprint was expected this Monday after a completely flat 1st stage of almost 200 km between Wrocław et Legnica. At the end of a day without history, we logically attended the planned scenario and a first beautiful explanation between the many sprinters at the start. And the fastest of them was without surprise Olav Kooij ! The Dutchman has perfectly managed this sinuous and disjointed final sprint, producing his effort at the right time to take the lead before resisting the French Paul Magnier (Sudal Quick-Step), returned like a ball in the last meters but ultimately a little too short on the line.

Olav Kooij Leader … in front of two French!

Already winner of two stages last year, the last of which, the sprinter of the Visma | Lease a Bike So continues his beautiful love story with the Polish test, on which he has always raised his arms since 2022 (5 successes in total with this one). It was also his 6th bouquet of the season, he who had triumphed twice on the Italian Tour in May. Olav Kooij Logically puts on the first leader's first leader jersey, with two small seconds ahead of … French Donavan Grondin (Arkéa – B&B Hotels), which has been full of bonuses within the breakaway of the day. Kooij should give in his tunic on Tuesday during a 2nd stage much more hilly to Karpacz.
