Promising winner of the Isard round In 2015, during a year with the hopes who also saw him finished 3rd in the Val d'Aosta Tour a 5e you Tour of the future, Petilli will never have managed to truly confirm its potential at the higher level, with no victory to the counter and a 9th place on the White roads 2022 as the most convincing result. The runner from Bellano then flourished as a model teammate capable of climbing well, with five participations in his Giro national, and just as much to The return. He will end his cycling adventure on the Lombardy TourOctober 11.

I did what I dreamed of as a child, I went around the world by bike, I ran against champions that I was watching on television, then I tried to imitate them by going on my bike and climbing coasts as hard as possible. When I was little, becoming pro was a goal, then I achieved it, without realizing it I did my passion a job, I learned a lot, I gained experience that few people have.

More than 10 years, where I met incredible people, from whom I learned a lot, and who have formed what I am today. The Giro d'Italia, whom everyone is watching on television and which fills the days of all Italians every month of May, I had the honor to compete for five times, and to be one of these protagonists dreaming of the Maglia Rosa, a stage victory or even simply to finish it.

I was not a champion, but I really met a lot, and I learned something from each of them, increasing my esteem towards each of them! But I was a professional cyclist, which means knowing how to get up after each fallrun in all conditions, in the rain and in the cold, or by more than 40 degrees and a blazing sun. Run for three consecutive weeks, train every day, ride in all conditions, measure everything you eat, rest best, take care of your body, but stress it and bring it to the limit of its capacities almost every day.

I had fun, I did whatever I wanted (or almost!), So I decided it was time to grow up and look forward. The future looks just as interesting. The time has come to give cycling what he gave me. My last big tour is over, but My last goodbye will be in my native race: he Lombardie. I'll meet you there. Thank you to everyone who supported me, and were so many! Thank you to everyone with whom I ran, part of the staff, management or anything else in the world of cycling. Thanks to my family. Thanks to cycling.
