Cristiano Ronaldo reiterated his controversial statement concerning the “top 5” of the Saudi professional league, while revealing his ambition to become “champion” in Al-Nassr.

After many speculations on his projects for the future, the five-time winner of the Ballon d'Or has committed two years in the Middle East. These record conditions will allow this great player to exceed his 42nd anniversary.

Ronaldo does not show any signs of slowdown when he targets the 1,000 career goals. The striker won twice consecutive the Golden Soulier in Saudi Arabia while remaining the emblematic captain of Portugal.

CR7 won the Golden Shoe twice in consecutive in Saudi Arabia

Ronaldo has had many opportunities to break his ties with Al-Nassr at the end of his previous contract, but he believes that he is in the best place at this stage of his career. CR7 also said in the past that he considered the Saudi league as stronger than Ligue 1 and MLS.

After signing a new contract, Ronaldo told the official media team of Al-Nassr : “Of course, we (the Saudi professional league) continue to improve, but I think that at present, we are already one of the five best leagues (in the world). I continue to believe that we will continue to improve, we have time and we have shown in the past two years that the League has continued to progress.

The L1 excluded from the top 5

I am happy because I know that the league is very competitive. Only people who have never played in Saudi Arabia and who understand nothing in football say that this league is not one of the best five (in the world). I believe 100 % in my words, and the people who play in this league know what I am talking about. »»

After agreeing to stay, Ronaldo said about his trophies goals : “My goal is always to win something important for Al-Nassr. And of course, I always believe it. This is why I have extended by two years, because I think I will be champion in Saudi Arabia. »»

Ronaldo scored 99 goals for Al-Nassr in 111 appearances. However, he won only one title, the Arab Champions Cup in 2023, and he intends to correct this injustice before putting an end to his remarkable player career.
