Six years after his departure, João Félix has never been so close to a return to Benfica. According to the Portuguese daily Ballthe negotiations between the Eagles and Chelsea are still underway, led by Jorge Mendes. The famous agent should soon meet with Behdad Eghbali, one of the main investors of the consortium having bought the London club in Roman Abramovich.
The Blues wish to quickly settle the situation in order to find an exit door for the 25 -year -old Portuguese international, who does not count for coach Enzo Maresca. A transfer to the Lisbon club is currently the only viable option for the London stable. Chelsea assesses João Félix at 40 million euros but judges the 20 million insufficient that Benfica proposed to offer for 50% of the rights of the player. The incarnados, for their part, are ready to make a financial effort to repatriate the one who became the biggest sale of the club in 2019 (€ 127 million to Atlético de Madrid).
