Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso, is already thinking about next season and how to prepare for it, but he is aware that one of his key players will not be present.

Kylian Mbappé missed a large part of the club World Cup due to illness, and Jude Bellingham will now miss the first months of the season.

Bellingham is scheduled to undergo a surgical operation on Wednesday in London to solve a chronic shoulder problem. This is what Cadena Ser, who confirmed the date announced by Bellingham himself before the Club World Cup.

Bellingham aims to return in October

The operation will keep him away from land for 10 to 12 weeks. In the first case, he could not return to the field before October, while in the second, he could return in mid-October, probably taking advantage of the international break to recover from his injury. Alonso will therefore have to do without the English international for at least a month and a half, the Merengues taking over competition on August 19.

The matches that Jude Bellingham will miss

The operation will solve a long -standing problem that affects Bellingham since November 2023, when he dislocated his shoulder against the Rayo Vallecano. Since then, he has played with a thick bandage and manages the pain.

The 22 -year -old will miss the Liga matches against Osasuna (home), Real Oviedo (outside), RCD Mallorca (home), Real Sociedad (exterior), Espanyol (Home), Levante (exterior), Atlético Madrid (outside) and probably two Champions League games, including the Madrilene derby.

The operation had been planned for some time, but due to Euro 2024 last summer and the requirements of Real Madrid, the club and Bellingham decided to postpone it. Bellingham, however, said it was impatient to undergo this operation.

“I think I reached the limits of my patience with the splint. The physiotherapists and the doctors here were incredible, they prepared me to play match after match. But I am now at a point where I am ready to have a free shoulder, and a free body actually. »»
