The pass of three for Jasper Philipsen. The runner Alepecin-Deceuninck won the victory over the 19th stage of the Vuelta after a massive sprint, Friday, September 12. After 161.9 kilometers of course between Rueda and Guijuelo, in western Spain, in a procession sometimes calm and sometimes a little more nervous, the Belgian paid competition to the sprint.

He won his third victory over this 2025 edition, by ahead of the Madersen (Lidl-Trek) and Orluis Aurlar (Movistar) green jersey. Two French runners finish in the Top 10: Thibaud Gruel (Groupama-FDJ), 9th, and Jordan Labrosse (Decathlon Ag2r La Mondiale), 10th, just ahead of Bryan Coquard (Cofidis), 11th.

Everything was played in the last kilometers, after a stage marked by a long-grouped peloton, and a breakaway of almost 100 kilometers from the Czech Jakub Otruba (Caja Rural-Seguras RGA). While the runners had to swallow a short climb in the last three kilometers, the Alpecin-Deceuninck train set up to launch its sprinter. “It was a very difficult final, especially after eleven days without sprinter, it hurt. The team did me a great job, she went up to me at the best time in the last kilometers”reacted the winner, who admitted to having hung on to follow the wheels of his teammates in the finale, at the organizer's microphone.

In the general classification, Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease A Bike) is still ahead of Joao Almeida (Uae Team Emirates XRG, +44 ''). The Danish, who had conceded ten seconds to his runner-up on the Valladolid time trial on Thursday, recovered four by playing the intermediate sprint of Salamanca, just over 100 kilometers from the line. He is still in possession of the red jersey, two days before the final arrival in Madrid.
