FC Barcelona is preparing to secure the future of its Lamine Yamal nugget with a contract that looks like that formerly signed by Lionel Messi.
This was confirmed by President Joan Laporta during an interview with Espip3. After having renewed Hansi Flick and Raphinha, the Catalan club now concentrates its efforts on the extensions of De Jong, Eric Garcia, and especially Yamal, considered one of the great hopes of the Masia.
A Messi bonus system
As with Argentine legend, Barça plans a contract based on a high fixed salary, accompanied by many variables related to performance. These bonuses could depend on trophies won, individual distinctions such as the Ballon d'Or, or the title of top scorer (Pichichi). Particularity of the Messi model: these bonuses became fixed once reached, thus consolidating remuneration over time.
At just 16 years old, Lamine Yamal could thus become the youngest player to benefit from such financial treatment within the club. Barça hopes through this proposal to demonstrate to his young prodigy that he is the cornerstone of the future, while encouraging him to continue his progress at the highest level.
