Hansi Flick would have excluded a departure from a Barcelona star this summer, despite rumors of transfer to Manchester United for 70 million euros.

Mundo Deportivo says that after having read the potential rumors of Fermin Lopez in Barcelona this summer, the German coach would have asked in the attacking midfielder to stay. The Spanish international would then have expressed the former coach of Bayern Munich to stay with the Blaugrana, despite rumors of transfer to 70 million euros (61 million pounds sterling).

Manchester United is interested in the Barcelona star Lopez

These comments arise a few weeks after the publication of information that Flick wanted to reduce the number of options in the midfield at his disposal, a group including Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Fermin, Marc Casado and Marc Bernal. The club is still not in an optimal financial situation, one or two sales could be beneficial. But it seems that Fermin is not about to leave, despite his lack of playing time.

Flick excludes a departure

The 22-year-old scored 19 goals and issued 11 assists in 88 games for Barcelona since his debut in the 2023-24 season. Firm, meanwhile, has only holded 38 times for the Blaugrana, Pedri, Olmo and Jong often being preferred.

Fermin, trained at Barça and capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, more axial and on the left wing, has another four years of contract and it seems that he will not leave the Flick team anytime soon.
