The Tour de France Women is about to start. The 154 runners of the peloton will leave from Vannes, in the west of France, on Saturday July 26. They will travel 1,165 km divided into nine stages, to reach the east of France and Châtel, on Sunday August 3, all broadcast by France Télévisions every day. As with the male tour, the route of the 4th edition of the large female loop will be carried out in two parts: the sprinters and punctuous in the spotlight on the first four stages, the climbers in the foreground during the mountain stages.
Titled during the 2nd edition, in 2023, the Dutch Demi Vollering (FDJ-Suez) appears as one of the big favorites of this Women's Tour de France. But she will have to be wary of the Polish Katarzyna Niewadoma (canyon-sram), crowned last year to the detriment of the Dutchman. The double world champion on a reigning road, Lotte Kopecky (SD World-Protime) should also be at the top of the general classification. On the French side, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (Visma-Lease A Bike) will also have a playing card, especially during the rugged stages, favorable to her Pluante profile. Olympic mountain bike champion in 2024 in Paris, the Rémoise aspires to play the leading roles.
