For more than a decade, PSG tried everything to win the Champions League. Recruitment of world stars, colossal investments, change of channel coaches … but without success. Then in 2023, Qatari leaders changed CAP by focusing on youth, the collective and more rational management. Two seasons later, Paris is crowned European champion and seduces all of Europe with the quality of its game. A success that leaves no one indifferent. Starting with a certain Waldemar Kita.

Nantes wants to bet on youth

Aware of the economic limits of FC Nantes, President Kita seems determined to draw inspiration from the new Parisian model. No more hazardous bets on experienced players, make way for a strategy focused on training and young talents of the club. Louis Leroux (19), Dehmaine Tabibou Assoumani (20), Johann Lepenant (22 years old), Herba Guirassy (20) or Matthis Abbline (22 years old) This new generation on which Nantes wishes to build his future. The Canaries' training center, renowned for years, thus finds a central place in club policy. A necessity as much as a strategic choice, dictated by a financial situation under pressure.

A Revolution En Marche à la Jonelière

Waldemar Kita may not have the means of PSG, but he seems to want to adopt a similar philosophy: building over time, around a strong identity and a coherent sports project. With Antoine Kombouaré at the controls and a promising young base, FC Nantes may well surprise in the coming years. The bet is launched. It remains to be seen if it will be as paid as in Paris.
