A second victory for Tim Merlier on this 2025 edition, his third on the Tour de France. The Belgian (Sudal Quick-Step) perfectly mastered the final sprint, which was tight to the end, to win on the wire during the 9th stage, between Chinon (Indre-et-Loire) and Châteauroux (Indre), Sunday July 13. He is ahead of Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek), winner the day before, and Arnaud de Lie (Lotto). This new stage in a long plain of 174.1 km was marked by a splendid escape from Dutch Mathieu Van der Poel, finally resumed 700 meters from the finish line, after a colossal effort at 50 km/h on average for 170 km.
